History

Tuscarora High School is a relatively new school. In 2003, Tuscarora opened its doors to the classes of 2006 and 2007, bringing the school to half capacity. As of September 2010, the enrollment was 1,511 students.

On Tuesday, May 16, 2006, Tuscarora High School received the first bomb threat in its history. Students were told to stay at home, and those who had already arrived were quickly bused to other area schools. Students were allowed to return only after officials had cleared the building of any threat.

On Monday, October 11, 2010, Tuscarora High School received another bomb threat. The Bomb Threat stayed in effect for 2 hours while law enforcement searched the campus and seized contraband at this time. Several students were arrested for having drugs in their lockers as well as some who had it on them for distribution. The caller was also arrested.

SAVE

During the 2011 school year, a group of seniors formed a schoolwide club called SAVE (Students Against Violence Everywhere). The club was formed in response to unrest at the school; including bomb threats, evacuations, fights and the arrest of a student who brought a gun to school. [1] The club's founders organized forums and events to fight the misconceptions about violence at their school. They wore white items of clothing as a sign of protest against violence.[2]
